2011 Miss NPRA Shalaina Joiner of Clatskanie, Oregon is the daughter of Troy & Karen Joiner & KaCee Joiner. She is a graduate of Mark Morris High School where she was a member of the Volleyball & Softball teams, the school newspaper staff, & the LINK mentor program. She is a senior at Washington State University & will be graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Personnel Psychology & Human Resource. Shalaina represented the Columbia County Fair & Rodeo as a 2007 Princess & the Tillamook County Rodeo as the 2008 Queen. Shalaina is employed by L&J Feed of Longview, Washington. When she is has free time she is on her family’s ranch riding & training horses & enjoying the outdoors. In addition to winning the title, Shalaina won the Knowledge, Personality, Speech, & Photogenic category awards. Shalaina says that she wanted to be 2011 Miss NPRA because “Rodeo helps preserve our history & the traditional American values of respect, integrity, & resiliency. As an ambassador & role model of the association, Miss NPRA epitomizes these values, working diligently to promote our western heritage. I am be honored to represent the Northwest & keep the cowboy spirit alive.”
