Hello! My name is Sara Marcus, and I am the 2013 Miss Northwest Professional Rodeo Association. I have a few people to thank for making this possible for me. First, my mom has been phenomenal in this endeavor. She took care of my horse Jigsaw for the entire weekend including saddling, washing, and feeding while I was off competing for the title of Miss NPRA. Also a big thank you to my Step dad Bob for putting up with the hairspray and me taking over the guest room with my queen clothes. My Dad made it all the way from California to watch me, as he has been dubbed my good luck charm for pageants. But most of all I have my coordinator Jean to thank for her organization and knowledge in case I ever have questions.
Thank you to the Northwest Professional Rodeo Association for giving me this incredible opportunity as I spend January to December representing the western heritage of rodeo, I hope to do you proud!

About Me

- Sara Marcus, 20, of Sisters, Oregon is the daughter of Bob and Jeri Buckmann and Ron Marcus. She is a graduate of Sisters High School where she participated in the Oregon High School Equestrian Team and Tri County High School Rodeo. Sara’s previous titles included 2007 Central Oregon Pee Wee Rodeo Association Princess, 2011 Spray Rodeo Queen, and 2012 Sisters Rodeo Queen. When not representing the sport of rodeo, Sara competes in barrel racing at NPRA rodeos throughout the Northwest. She is currently working toward an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice at Central Oregon Community College. After graduation, she plans to transfer to the University of Oregon to earn a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and eventually work for the FBI as a Criminal Profiler. Sara says that “Becoming Miss NPRA gives me an opportunity to travel across the Northwest while promoting the largest regional rodeo association in the United States. This sport represents not only the cowboys and cowgirls who compete, but also the family values and western heritage held with the hearts of everyone involved.”
